Signature of Patent Court Agreement – 19/02/2013 – 17.04 CET

The Unified Patent Court Agreement was signed into law in Brussels today.

Twenty-four members of the European Union signed the Agreement.

Interestingly, Italy has signed the Agreement (contrary to Spain and Poland), while an appeal against the Unitary Patent through Enhanced Cooperation, signed by Italy and Spain, is still pending.

It is considered Bulgaria will sign the Agreement once it completes internal administrative procedures. Poland and Spain could sign the Agreement later if they wish.

Increase in official fees in Spain – 10/12/2012 1458 CET

EUpatent.com sources in Spain have indicated official fees will increase by 1%.

Patent translate extended to further 7 languages – 19/11/2012 16.35 CET

The European Patent Office “Patent Translate” is now available for translations into Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Polish and Norwegian.

The EPO aims at making available all 28 languages by the end of 2014. The following languages will also be available: Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian. Read more 9
